I bought the car from TVR Ecosse and whilst I've had some issues (actually, a lot of issues but that's another story) the cam cover has been fine! See the Ecosse website... http://www.tvrecosse.co.uk/tvr-accessories.aspx ...this would suggest the one on my car is powder coated? Assume though that this could be done by others?

A bit off topic, but what's with the Scottish TVR badging? Does anyone do Union Jack Ferrari badges?I bought the car from TVR Ecosse and whilst I've had some issues (actually, a lot of issues but that's another story) the cam cover has been fine! Don't know - I traded my Griff 500 which had union flag badges and they were changed immediately to Scottish items - I think there may be a bit of a Scottish / British issue? Beyond all that I think the union flag items 'look' good but I cant say the same for the Scottish items - just my opinion. You may have better luck on the Ferrari section re Ferrari badges?
I put the union flag badges on my car as I always thought TVR's were proper hairy chested 'British' sports cars and not because of national pride or anything....and because I thought they looked good. Why do you want union flag Ferrari badges?

TVR is quintessentially British - English if you want to get picky. A Sottish badged TVR is as stupid as a British badged Ferrari or an Italian badged Renault. Now which Sottish car can we slap a St George's cross on?You may have better luck on the Ferrari section re Ferrari badges?

Jeezus wept... A badge that is a bit of fun and the nationalists get upity....I think in English you say: 'A lot of Elbow grease'....most time consuming work was to sand the rail, starting with a rough paper going to finer ones. And thats a lot of work because of the many edges and corners and the very porous surface.
The polishing itself is then only the last finish...Because I don't have a large polishing machine I used small polishing discs on my drill machine click here for an example...

Ha! High praise indeed...not up to Graham's unbelievable standards but I'm pleased with how its turned out. Cheers for the compliment...now all we need is some nicer weather and less salt on the road so I can go out and get it dirty!
So have u cleaned it or has it been refurbed recently ??RedSpike66 said:

Refurbed suspension and cleaned and painted the chassis - I started another thread so as not to take over the engine bay thread...http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Calm down calm down It's only a badge, Barry makes them up for who ever wants to buy them, bearing in mind the Union flag is made of the saint Andrews cross any way who really cares other than your self. If it bothers you that much don't look at them, simples
But if you want to slap a st Georges cross on a Scottish made car there are a few older models around.
Argyle
Ascari to a degree (Anglo Scottish car industries)
And some pre war stuff thats not worth going on about....
And if being very picky Buick was a Scot and i am sure made the push rod v8 that powers some tvr's??? (Long shot but truth)
So you can slap one under the bonnet of a chim/griff and so on.
