How long ago was that. I think now due to the blocks being out of production and cast destroyed its on needs basis. Although power have plenty of refurb blocks. Was it actually "new" or refurbed. Without close examination you'd never know.

The ultimate solution is a cnc billet program.

Hi Matt

Was definitely specified as a new block not reconditioned. St8six used to have on there website the 4.3 blueprinted option which I went for just to lighten my wallet a little more yikes This was done at the end of 2012.

Pretty sure Dom once posted up its always better to use existing block and head casting if they aren't damaged.... Typically mileages at which these rebuilds are taking place means the blocks and heads are pretty much just well run in. It's not like having a 200k miles engine rebuild...

Yup well I guess mine was completely destroyed thanks to a very incompetent engine builder (twice)

And my new 4.3 engine built by Jason and fitted by HHC

Love it now.

Well the needle bearings from the oil pump had collapsed and been dragged through the engine, hence the scoring on the cylinder bore. This happened twice (ie had an engine rebuild which I paid for then another rebuild to rectify the problem only for it to happen again).

When the engine was in bits a cylinder liner was moving (they had supposedly fitted these).
3.6 litre pistons had been used instead of 4litre ones.
The baffle plate on the sump plate had been welded on for some reason. I have photos of this somewhere.

When I gave the car to HHC and Jason at Str8six they were amazed I still had oil pressure at the end. The car was still running when I gave it to them to get the 4.3litre done.

It is now brilliant by the way and the guys at HHC and Jason have done an absolute superb job.

PM me if you want the previous builders name.
Cheers

What about guarantees?
Str8Six offered unlimited mileage over 3 years for my 3.6 whereas Dom had I think a maximum mileage limit... Is that the same for their 4.3 work? Depends on how many miles you'll want to do of course but with a new 4.3, you should go around the world and back smile
