hi everybody
the seal of my cam cover leaking so i need do a new one
but i don't find loctite 598 in my local shop i find only loctite 5940
can i use the loctite 5940?

You can use any brand of room temperature vulcanising sealant (RTV). Do they not stock any other brands.

thanks for your reply the 5940 is rtv
and it s can be used for cam cover

the gasket in vitton from RG can be a good upgrade yes
but not cheap
next time i think!!

if you use the viton gasket you MUST use also nord-lock security-washer as without the bolts will not be fixed properly and the gasket get's leak.

Ironically another way to prevent the bolts form loosening is to apply a dab of silicone to the threads.

i fitted the gasket to mine it lasted until the first time i took the cam cover off so have
gone back to good old sealant
