Good one Coco. LOL- That was a good one. Possibly I could have made a better choice of words. No offense intended, Chris. I'm sure you're a "standup" guy.

Soft shaft, and of course the inner ring.... to increase the diameter. So lets not lower the tone anymore, I am often accused of this by Jonka's and Speedbuzz's missus's... LOL as if I would.

The reference to larger bearing, increased OD will mean increased ID and this means, no access to shaft at mo as I am by the fire with beer and shaft is in man cave so could be wrong as memory fuzzy and soaked in golden liquid, I think increasing beyond the ID of the rotor so an inner ring is needed to follow the rotor on to the shaft, which also means the running surface material is compatible so a good bearing.

Anyway, hope you get your engine and all is well.

I don't think it's shipped.

But to make it clear, for you guys who are so interested, this delay has nothing to do with RND and hasn't for the last 6 months or so. RND finished their part of the project and supplied all the parts months ago. It's now exclusively down the the engine builder (SW based) to finish the build and ship it, but he regularly comes up with BS reasons for it not to have shipped.

Indeed they owe RND money which won't be paid until it ships so they're as keen as anyone to see it delivered.

Every company involved in this should be ashamed of themselves this project is taking way, way to long. Totally unacceptable and both companies should be thoroughly ashamed.

I had a feeling this project would end up like this given the companies involved but it gives me absolutely no pleasure to be proved right.

Very very poor gentlemen.

Hi, Yea TVR Power fixed the issue, but after bleeding the radiator for what felt like 100s of times and still it overheating, I got it transported back to power £££, they bled it said I had air in it still (which I doubted but didn't say anything) and said all was ok, only for it to overheat again 20 mins up the M6. So I was collected by the AA and returned to TVR Power, fortunately they stayed open as this was now early evening. Then I returned back to power 2 weeks later to collect it once sorted ££.

It was the final straw for me though, I had sunk a lot of cash into the car over 5 years and never really had the confidence after this to take it out that far without thinking I wasn't going to get home. The engine rebuild warranty only had six months or so to run also.

The car was probably at it's best mechanically and cosmetically by this time but I had enough. I sold it to a nice lad from Carlisle and he got a good car.

The car was also off the road for 8 weeks waiting on my throttle bodies getting refurbished at a southern TVR specialist it should only have taken 4 weeks max!! so this combined with the weeks it was of the road being told it was air in the system resulted in the summer passing me bye so I had had enough.

Still miss it though.

Okay, I am going ask everyone to please be seated, lest you faint and bonk your heads when I make this long awaited announcement....

Yes, the engine has actually shipped and is now in my shop. Everything looks really good. I am especially pleased with the custom built stainless headers - Very nice.

There is still another shipment to come with all of the ancillaries (Webers, ECM, etc. etc.) along with the transmission. As soon as I have it all in house I will fit things together and post some photos.

I know most of you who have been following this have been amazed at my patience. I am not quite the saint (or fool) that you might think. The truth is the E type "tub" which is being built on this side of the pond is STILL not finished (long story, but understandable considering the situation with the builder).

All I can say at this point is that I am pleased with what I have received. Dave and Chris have been true to their word and delivered as promised. In all truth, the actual shipment went as smooth as silk, and Chris did a masterful job of crating up the engine. (Slower than Christmas, yes. But in the end it has had no impact on the overall schedule - sadly.)

I will keep you all posted as this project progresses. And for all of you new to this and the related threads, this is a project to put a Speed Six in a series 1 Jaguar E type. By some very bizarre coincidence the Speed Six is dimensionally (and even visually) a virtual clone of the old XK engine, but weighs about half as much and delivers twice the power. No cutting of the Jag is required for the transplant.

It was dynode by Chris and showed 400 HP at the crank (give or take). And keep in mind this was with Webers. I told Chris and Dave this was for a street application (no track days, please) and ultimate power was not the primary objective. 400 HP in a car that will weigh in at well under 2500 pounds will give more than adequate performance. The reason for the Webers was to have things as period correct as possible. The reason for choosing the S6 was weight as much as the power increase. (I could have had a 350 HP+ XK engine for the same money, but it would have been FAR heavier.)

There is supposed to be a copy of the dyno run coming with the second shipment.
