need some advice, please.

usually, when the sp6 is cold, oil runs down and the oilsump tank is near to empty.

since some weeks my tank is half filled, same after driving or just undriven and cold.

what could i do ?

Can you see the minimum and maximum marks on your dipstick? If you can then you can top up accordingly. The difference with these engines is that you cannot overfill the way you would a normal engine.

Take a good ride so oil is really hot. Than stop the engine and unscrew the dipstick. Than check level the other day. Still half full ?

Got me wrong, i meant to screw out dipstick after the run and then look after the level the other day, when oil is cold again.

cold oil shows oil above the max. on the stick. this is why i'm surprised as last year it showed a little bit at the end of the stick when cold.

That doesn't make sense. Half between the marks when hot and above top mark when cold ?? This would mean your oilcooler or pump is blocked so that the oil can't leave the tank into the block. Unlikely, if engine runs with healthy oil pressure.
My first thinking was a vacuum in tank not allowing the oil to flow back into the block. But that's very unlikely since the tank can breath over the pipe to airbox.

See how it is after the oil service (don't forget to check the pressure relief valve).
Wouldn't worry about it at all....

.. i will fit also a new pressure relief valve spring ;-)

oi pressure is around 60psi at 95° and 3.5k rpm. (5w-50)
