I know how to check the oil but...

...it's always at the same level. Hot or cold, engine off for a long time or just off and burnt fingers it makes no difference it's showing at 3/4. Never used to do this and meant on a recent long trip to Italy I put half a litre in every thousand miles just in case!
I've heard recently this has happened to a couple of other people. So I was wondering if any on here had experience or suggestions?

same here, just had a complete oilservice. the only difference is the oil-colour, as fresh/new oil is nearly invisible ;-)
