Thanks for all who helped on my last post regarding ECU and tuning this god dam speed six i have rebuilt
Now the nightmare continues !! i can not get the new oil filters to stop leaking on start up i have fitted Wix WL7117 x 2 and Mahle OC384 x 2 and even tried one with a thicker filter and still no luck !! the thread is not damaged or the gasket seat on the filter housing
Fitted loads of oil filters before on all sorts of engines never had this fiasco [spin on then hand tight half a turn ish]
i have used the above meathod [leaked] used the removal tool to tighten a bit more [leaked] how far do i go ?
Any ideas on this one before i get the matches out ??

The only thing I can think is that the threaded tube that holds the filter is not at 90o to the mating face.
Could it have got bent ? Its a push fit iirc...hard to imagine how filter could leak otherwise

Are you sure it is leaking and not an adjacent gallery plug or the feed pipe from the oil cooler

Thanks all
Looks like it's self healed !! On starting up this time could see using a mirror a very small leak on the silver rim of the filter wiped this a couple of times and as the engine warmed expansion must of sealed the filter
It's the first time I have fitted a filter to this engine and the first time on any car I have needed to tighten one with the removal tool to stop a leak
Going to start her up in the morning from cold to see if all is good
Rebuilding the head took less time lol
Thanks again
Phil
