Anyone got any tips? Was looking at the omex one as an improvement to my existing sp6 ECU or Mbe Knock Ecu from powers. Anyone got any experience with this and seen any significant improvement?

Saw that but the post was quite old. Also interested in gains and comparison between the two. They are priced around the same.

You may want to consider the Syvecs too. Cant find the original post from Ryan who developed Syvecs on a Tuscan but the "before and after" was day and night.

Edit: see this http://www.syvecs.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&am...

I've fitted syvecs myself. Pretty much along the same lines as Ryan did in the above post. Not massively difficult and the idle control valve gets rid of all the hot idle, cold idle nonsense.

The best thing about syvecs is that you don't need a liscence holder to amend any of the maps or settings. Pretty sure with the MBE 905a which power are selling you have to return to power. Similar situation with the original MBE which I think there's just two liscence holders

Syvecs units are based on hardware from life racing, which if you know about engine management are in a different league to MBE and omex.

Any questions let me know.

Another vote for Syvecs here. Been running it for a few years now with out any issues.

Good to know, it might be worth spending a little more to get the better one.. Where did you get yours through?

Racing Green as part of the FFF package.

What does that package contain? How must did that set you back? Was looking at the powers 4.3 upgrade + ECU but its well over 10k by the time you are done. Wanted to get the engine a little better without spending half of the cars total value..http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/10.gif

This was my thread about it here

This is the Modified Speed Six Wiki, so you can see the real world numbers.

I think I paid about £15k all in for: New clutch, lightened flywheel, FFF, Syvecs, ACT exhaust, ACT carbon airbox, all the work and a few other bits and pieces. It adds up if you are going for it! biggrin

Do they do the FFF anymore? I heard some of their team went to TVR 101 so not sure how capable they are now?

Unknown - I know they have moved and you are correct that Woody went to / set up 101. Currently all money is going into the house so I'm not investigating upgrades further.... frown

I do not believe they do now. At least, they are not able to do work on them.

Happy to stand corrected, but...

If it's cosworth I guess it'll be using pectel.... Be odd for cosworth to fit someone else's system.

MBE "had" racing pedigree. Syvecs "life" has racing pedigree. Now pedigree

Life supply AER who develop F1, Indy, LMP1
http://www.aerltd.com

MBE has now branched out into boats and planes whistle

Come on fella biggrin get the reading glasses out, good game good game

You don't think I'd buy a product without analysing it about 14 billion times on its merits do you biggrin i want you to sell me something next. Still watching your 4.7 thread with interest.

I want you to sell me something next!
