Hello,

Pretty new to TVR ownership so everything panics me at the moment with regards to noises.

However i did notice something today when she was idling. The exhaust pulse pattern is different from the left exhaust vs the right one. Is this normal? RIght has more of a continuous pattern to the pulse, whereas the left has like a mini pause in its pattern of pulses. Hoping this is normal or just a simple re balancing of the throttle bodies?

Thanks

Bev

Not sure how much you know about the setup but one exhaust runs the front three cylinders and the other the rear three. (Cannot remember which way around it is off the top of my head).
The ECU runs the front and rear three as two different systems with the fuelling for both controlled almost independently with their own throttle position and lambda sensors.
Therefore it is quite possible to get the pulses that you mention.
It may just be case of throttle balancing but without looking at the car in more detail it is very difficult to say.

Wouldn't worry at all. Always sounds off beat (especially mine with decat and CCC's) and that was as a 4litre and now with blue printed 4.3. With straight through it sounds even worse on idle but is normal. As said above you have a split between 123 and 456 so timing gives the off beat sound on idle. As long as you have no smoke etc al is good.

With good throttle pod adjustment all should be fine when engine is in warm condition.

Both side should blow equal and exhaust sound should be also good and same on both sides.

Hmmmmmmm, it's at Str8six in 10 days for decats. So i will get them to check as it was definitely up to temperature with different pulses each side.
