So Balanced Bodies, idle set to around 900rpm.

Logged in to software to reset throttle and maps.

bank 123 now 15.2% idle
bank 246 now 23% at idle

Ahh, TPS must be duff then. Swapped out to a brand new one, out of packet. (had to be the bugger at the back, didn't it...)

Basically the same readings.....

So just out of curiosity, Got the old TPS and drilled the holes out to 5mm which gives a little play, managed to get the idle back to 15.2% idle. But unless I fiddle with the TPS position, the ECU will not self calibrate the rear sensor on start and in OEM position, any sensor is well off.

ECU does some odd things, like it will start, but will idle at around 500 rpm initially sand gradually ramp up to 900rpm eventually. But NOT everytime.

I have noticed in the software at first start (hot or cold), the TPS positions will be at 25% or more and over the course of a few seconds, ramp down to 15%.

This is a late car tuscan 2005 and its almost like some kind of first start enrichenment process.

I have an earlier ECU kicking around that I think I will connect tomorrow.

Thoughts?

Have you tried a different number six throttle body... The ecu is enriching based on the reading from the spindle going into the magic TPS. Hence why when you make the holes bigger and adjust its position it brings it back in line. It's possible the spindle is creating noise.

As it turns out I do not have an ecu for this particular beast as its a later car and has the 3 port MBE lump.

Ive checked the spindle and there is no discernible wear car only has 15k on it! AFAIK the ecu was meant to calibrate itself to the

Starting the car this morning from cold,

In order we have before start, 5 seconds in and a 60 seconds in.

The throttle pot has been adjusted manually to reflect the correct idle opening, as the ecu does not appear to want to compensate for any difference.

All bodies at pulling exactly 6 when warm.

What strikes me as odd is the throttle position on the second pic, the ecu is forcing it to a high value and possible for enrichment?

Like you say 15k isn't much. Have you removed the throttle body and the spindle and measured with a micrometer. If it's vibrating with the engine you'll get noise.
