Seen some impressive figures in the past for large bore exhaust manifolds I think by Clive f pipework but can't seem to find them now.. Look fantastic but around £2k so what sort of increase in bhp/torque do they give if any?

Probably un-noticeable on a standard engine in everyday conditions.

They are beautiful - Clive does great work and I own some of it. I would be looking at those as the cherry on the top of a modified S6 (4.3 or 4.5) after the ECU swap.

my stuff can be found on facebook, the larger bore speed 6 manifolds are available, but I`ve removed the details from the page until I fit a pair on my 4lt engine and get some dyno results, as I`d like some proof on what gains could be had on a 4lt, I hope to get this done ready for next spring, pm me if you want more info.

Clive, new manifold sounds interesting! What changes have you made? Would you supply one ceramic coated?

I'll be after some decats around the turn of the year, and yours look the part!

Not the cheapest, but the quality is really is quite superb and credit where credit is due, in fact they are far to pretty to fit.

My only advice is to order them a few weeks prior to fitting so they can sit on the mantle piece and be admired by the whole family

my design uses bigger diameter tubes for the headers to aid better engine breathing, especially on the 4.3 and 4.5 engines, I expect it to show gains on the 4lt engine as well, but its finding time to make and fit a set onto my Sag and run up to Joolz for a dyno session, I plan to sort this out in the new year.

No frothy bits there. Loverly. Any chance of a discount for two pairs?

They look ace. Im building a 4.2 so they may work a treat for me, I'll be building and mapping in the new year and would be happy to buy and test on your behalf.

Would they ceramic coat well with them being freshly made? i.e. not rusty and cleaned up which Ive heard affects the coating adhesion or wouldn't you bother with them being larger diameter?

hehehappy to talk discount on 2 pairs, and yes interested in testing on your 4.2 when its ready, as for ceramic coating they may wish to give a fine bead blast before coating, they can be supplied not polished to if that helps, best as the people who do the coatings for advice on that one.

drop me an email if interested, info@fbfabrications.co.uk

Soooo tempting Clive. Perhaps another set of decats too. I need to get some extra work done!

I had the previous set of decats ceramic coated and asked Clive not to polish them. They were done black though.

I did speak to the coaters who have a clear coating to allow the stainless to be on view. They would golden up. Not sure how much the polishing would need to be dulled though. Given the ball ache in fitting I would want to make sure the coating was well applied.

Very pretty. Are there any performance gains to be had or will it be in the same 'looks nice and may give 1-2 unproven horsepower' as the carbon air boxes?
I don't mean to sound cynical but when you buy a sports manifold and/or exhaust for say an AM vantage you get a dyno readout before and after showing the gains for each part. In this case you just take a picture, stick it on a ph forum, say cheerio and that's it. Well done on the polishing....

We found some approaches with which we hope to increase performance and not only the design . . . . .

'We hope'

As promising as it looks, let's see some honest before and after dyno results with creditable figures then there would be a queue of people lined up for them.

Who did those manifolds Alex. That collector section will definitely improve output and the sound.

diameter isnt more than 2.5" as for the x pipe could improve things. as for the back collector dont see any gains there.
some gains can be had at the ports as the original welds are soso. maybe there is something to gain but if.......

put the car on the same dyno as before and after.....
