Chris,
Carbon roof, red rose brakes and 4.0 ltr engine. Insurance same cost as standard Tamora with Mannings cos it came new from the factory that way!!

LOL, I heard the same! I guess its true, my car has been running on borrowed time for the past two year, phew, I'm glad this unreliability thing has been unearthed by all these people in the know!!, I see the light, better get rid then!

John, I must say, you have a stunning collection of automotive porn, a Sag and Tam is a perfect combo!

Thanks Chris, but unfortunatly, the Sags partner is a 4.5 Cerb. The Tamora belongs to Linda, my better half.

The Tamora more than holds its head up in that company and is certainly the best handling out of the box - not suffering from the terminal understeer of the Sagaris.

Nothing wrong with a Cerb! I love 'em all.
Your Sag understeers?, wonder why that is! Not at all on the same level, but that reminds me of why I part exed my TF160 for the Chim, I part exed my Tropy 160 for the TF (even had the special lowered suspension option pack!), thinking it would be better, but no, the TF was like a diluted Trophy 160, and understeered very badly, saloon-like, in fact! Not that I mind now, it steered me in the direction of TVR ownership!

The Sagaris is set up nice and safe as standard and safe is to understeer. After some help from the factory and my ever helpful dealer in Hexham, it turns in perfectly without a trace of the dreaded understeer.

Ah, OK, I did just notice the 'out of the box' comment, I must learn to take more time to read posts correctly!

Oh yes, my 3.6 has a bog-standard black coloured plug cover - I have looked at 4 ltr engines and can't see any difference, visually - the real only way to tell is to look at the engine ID plate.
My guess is that they paint the covers different colours now to help differentiate between the variants, and making the red painted cover owners feel more special.

When I ordered my Tamora last year I specified a 4.0 and the factory said no. I wonder why/when they stopped offering this option?

Well, this beats it all unless of course it is a 3.6 ......

correct me if I'm wrong, a 4.0L has three filler units unter the bonnet while the early 3.6 only has two (Oil & cooling) speeking from a Tuscan point of view.

Oil, Water, Clutch and Brake are the reservoirs under all the current TVRs. The early Tuscans were 4.0 and not 3.6.

My better half's car is a 4.0L and not a 3.6, very different engine characteristics, more torque and almost lazy by comparison to the 3.6.

There was a noticable change in policy regarding cusomer requested "options" in June/July last year. The very resaon I now own a Sagaris now and not a very special T350.
