Dear all

Only owned my 2001 Tuscan for around 4 weeks now and yesterday I decided to pop the roof off and enjoy the rays. However whilst driving I noticed a ticking sound coming from the engine. It could only be heard when I was excellerating not while the engine was idelling.
Any thoughts on what this could be? Is it the normal sound of the SP6 engine?

My 2001 Tuscan 4.0 had the same sound. It was serviced at the factory and they said it was normal. Whilst I owned the car there we're no engine problems.

My 2005 Tamora 3.6 Red Rose doesn't have the 'ticking' sound.

2 days after i picked up my tamora i heard a ticking - limped back to the garage and it was the timing chain/s needing adjusting - which was a relief - hope its something simple

just got mine back from austec with a rebuild and it doesn't tap now, before that it always tapped from when i bought it,unfortunately it got worse and then give up,thought they all tapped so did'nt worry about it at the time, now it just makes a whirring sewing machine sound and has a nice deep exhaust note.

thanks austec for a cracking job
