But apart from all these obvious advantages it has lost a bit of the TVR-typical (love it or hate it) attitude and behaviour.
Hi Carol,

I think that you were in Racing Green when I collected my car from its service.

I too know what you mean, but for me it's a bit like having a knee operation and missing the limp! You knew before you had it done that you could run at speed, but getting there was sometimes painful.

Maybe there is a touch of the masochist about TVR owners.....
Aha, finally someone found the reason why I want it supercharged wink

Anyone seen the "Melling 4.7" article yet? Hmm..... 4.7 SC how would that be?

I just adore speed, that's all...

And as someone said to me once: you can never have enough horse power ;-)

What sort of power levels and rpm limits are we looking at with the SC version compared to the NA setup?
NA version should be on the better side of 400 with 11:1 compression, the T350 in NA has got 392bhp (with 10:1 CR).

Colin is keeping quite conservative in terms of power output, saying that they'll keep somewhere around 480-500bhp for running in. I told them that I'm looking for 600bhp, and they know I don't want the car back until I've got that wink
I do hope it works for you, sounds like they're doing right thing spending lot of time on development until it's right. I've had some traumatic times myself over last few years as various weaknesses in my S6 are exposed and then developed through.

Are there mods to cope with the huge heat issues with the block and liners once above 380bhp, that the TVR factory found as well? (ie. if it's kept at full throttle for more than a few seconds).

We had a 4.5 running for just an hour, over a year ago, that was very educational. Changed back to 4 litres afterwards...

Great (holy) thread (resurrection)...!!

As I'm doing a rebuild of my engine with the FFF2 head I've just reread all of this thread. Quite informative, but strange how it came to an abrupt halt!

Hoping I can provide a bit more insight, with mine being a 4.2 and, at some point in future, the mbe upgrade.

Can't wait to have it installed in a few weeks!
