Sidewayz i saw your car there on Monday, nearly completed, mine's having the same treatment at the moment, i can't wait to get it back!
Cheers thainy77! I pick her next week. Dom has been testing the car and apparantly its a bit tail happy at the moment ( He he he) as I have the 3.9 diff and the rear end is a bit soft. I may need to get Trimar to tweak the suspension a bit .I can't wait to stretch it's legs! When do you get yours?

Nice to meet you over at Trimar by the way today Steve - all the best for the car when you get it back this week....better get some new rear tyres on order by the sounds of it!
Hi Simon, nice to meet you as well.Yup tyres a good idea.Your car looked too good with the top off,it gave me a moment of doubt!
Picked up my car from Trimar last night after a bloody evil drive through rush hour traffic in the back of a cab.My thanks to Martin,Phil and Mark for waiting for me.
First of all, what do you get for your money?
Its a mix of increased capacity, tried and tested Red Rose upgrades delivered with very high quality components and some new stuff. And a lot of experience and skill from Doms team.
This is a brief note of the components and some of the work-talk to Dom about the detail.
You get New 4.3litre crank, new conrods and new pistons all high quality components especially the crank which can take a lot more than the 4.3.
New Inlet cam and new exhaust cam
New inlet and exhaust valves, valve guides and valve seats. The seats have a three angle cut.
New finger followers. Yes, it still has finger followers and they work just fine. Talk to Dom for the details, I do not want to get into a “with FF” or without argument.
New injectors, which are also modded by Power.
New more sophisticated EPROM that will help with tuning
There are also a bucket load of changed components-bearings ,oil pump components etc. It all makes for a long list.
The labour looks reasonable considering what is done to the engine.
Total bill for the engine was bang on what was promised. I had the clutch upgraded at the same time so my final bill was a little bit more than advertised because of this but it seemed like a good idea with the power increased from 350bhp to 430bhp.
That’s the facts out of the way. What is it like?
Bare in mind it’s really early days and I have 1100 miles to go before I can left it have its head.
It’s bloody lovely!
There is a lot more torque! The car pulls strongly from low down. Its also very ,very smooth quite a bit more refined than I was expecting and extremely welcome. There is lots more to come in terms of power which is clearly present even though I am keeping the revs below 3k at the moment.
It sounds different as well. This is not a figment of my imagination, Phil at Trimar drove it down from Coventry for me and he mentioned it. My family said it sounds different and so did a couple of people at work this morning. It sounds deeper, which should not be possible, but it does seem to.
It still sounds like a Speed Six. You can hear what’s going on but I have always liked the sound of well meshed mechanical components so you pays your money etc.
I did a measily 80 miles today as I am at work ,but I going to spend a lot of time behind the wheel over the next couple of weeks to get through the 1200 miles running in period and take the car back to Dom where he will service it and then tune it up via the new EPROM on the dyno.
I’ll let you know how it goes, but so far so very, very good.

Congrats sidewayz!
I had a 4.3 steel crank made 2 yrs ago, but numerous setbacks meant it wasn't to be. I'm v happy with the sprint-spec torquey 4 litre I now have, but excellent news that Dom has got a 4.3 working well.
When run in I'll be interested to hear how the large extra dollop of mid-range torque stacks up against the theoretically slightly lower torque at high rpm, which was what I never found out.
I'll follow you there eventually, or an SC version!

Great stuff there, sidewayz. Glad to hear all is looking good with the 4.3....
I'd be really interested to hear how it performs further up the rev range, and to what degree the longer stroke affects 'free revving', i.e. a friend of mine use to have a 4.0S, and my 3.6 gained revs more quickly (although I guess that might have been due to reciprocating mass differences).

Hi Marko,
Yes the 3.6 revs like a nutter and my old 4L didn't seem quite as 'fast' although its all relative.I found the 4L to be very fast compared to more conventional engines from BMW or my old Merc which thought it was a steam engine.
The 4.3 is achieved by stroking so it has further to travel. It's change in momentum is therefore greater. I'll let you know what it feels like in another 900 miles as it might prove a bit expensive before then...
