Cool, another speed six project thread coming up then? Where did you get it from? Thinking i should have got a 4ltr, i'll need a 3.6 ecu when i drop it in my Tuscan and pull the 4 ltr out. Oh well good enough reason to go buy another one, 4 ltr this time!

Cap #7 has the trust bearing fitted, it stops the end float of the crank. N

Nice job your doing, wish i had some spare cash as i would be stripping mine, not for any reason, I just like tinkering.

ETA: you should just be able to pick up a chip for your current ECU with a 3.6 map n there. Have a word with Dom at power before you get another ecu.

Well its pretty much in bits now, just a couple of little bits to get off. Off for soda blasting on Friday. Then its measuring time, then the wait while the needed bits arrive, then it'll be time to whip out the one in the car and START AGAIN......

what is soda blasting?

When my brother started rebuildingh is speed 6 the problem was that the parts were so expensive to buy that in the end the cost was basically the same to have it rebuilt by the supplier of the parts as just buying the parts and you also got a warranty then.

Have you priced up the parts (finger followers, cams etc) yet?

Cheaper to get a 4-litre map chip from TVR Power I would think?
You'll also know you have the best version map, as TVR fitted several varieties.

Anyway, from my many experiences you're brave to go the DIY route. Hope it works for you but if you intend to use the performance much even on the road, I've learned the hard way that it's very different to the easy bolting together of less stressed engines like the Rover V8. Tolerances and machining of new parts to give correct clearance or pinch as required have to all be dead right or there will be any number of problems with heat, trashed bearings, headgasket, chain tension, oil flow etc. frown
