Pascal,
Maybe confidence would have been a better term than arrogance, but the refreshing bit still stands. Will we see you at Zolder in July?

Most likely yes. That is, if work allows (travel a lot so could be that I'm abroad...)

Look forward to meeting you. We'll be there giving some 32 year old TVR forced induction technology some serious use.

Need to get it re-mapped before I test it on the RR.
12000 miles and RG haven't mapped a new developed engine.... Unbelievable

Dom
Not wanting to be a knocker of RG, but I agree 100%.
As Pascal says, you don't know the full story. John, I know you aren't knocking RG; trust me, there are reasons, there is no danger to the engine and RG are as ethical, prepared and professional as you could ever hope for.

And if the worst happened, if the engine gets bended then it will get mended (sorry - ha to try for a bit of poor-poetry there).

Listen mate, you'd have to wrest it from me! You may be a martial (or is that matital?) artist, but I can inflict a nasty Chinese burn on your wrist biggrin

Or will be able to, when my bloody shoulders work again frown

Sadly, all those cranks looks much the same to me. However, this an image from the film Crank. And I'll remember this one.

Coming back to mine.... is 2 years and 7 months (so yes Dom, I am closing in on that hattrick) a long time to get to where I am? NO. I started out with a rebuild, and unfortunately for those who've seen the car at the NEC, the changes are underneath (with the car being the Swordfish car, I want the exterior to look exactly the same as it was in the movie).
A couple of minor points but you said you like to pay attention to detail. It's 2 years 8, 3/4 months and I wouldn't think that 40+psi in the tyres is recommended. Good luck. J

Hahahahahahahahahaha. Thanks for giving me a good laugh today.

Is that the famous design that you claim RG has copied???? It's just a standard Speed Six crank!!!! OK, maybe it's balanced, yeah... but it's still nothing different than an "AJP" developed crank....

You might want to have a closer look at the desing of the RG crank, maybe it'll eventually end up in one of your engines, like the pistons in your 4.3/4.5 C(opy)C(at) engines.
Arent your accusations just getting that little bit desparate and serious??

IMHO I really dont think a forum is the place for personal gripes or defamation...

Yep, engine builders are doing different things, so what? only difference is that one has it finished, on the road proven, performing brilliantly by all accounts, one doesnt have anything completely proven, facts, not a cause for such seriousness!!!!!

After all, ask one 'specialist' about a problem and they will give you their solution, it wont always be the same as the next. But - i wouldnt start a slanging match because of it!!!

Not really so;RG have a number (you'll have to ask them exactly how many) of FFF engines out there, also performing brilliantly with very satisfied customers. Fact. RG just don't post up about it, although they are happy to answer serious queries.

I'm one very happy customer, I think Davy is another. I guess the others don't use PH forums.

As for getting nasty, if you check back through a number of threads I think you'll find that Pascal is only responding to previous, earlier accusations. I know it sounds childish, but Dom started it. These threads were started for the express purpous of applauding RGs FFF, and S/C, designs. Never to knock any other organisation.

But they seem to get hijacked by people that have some sort of need for recognition. I think that I'm right in saying that in none of the TVR Power/4.3 threads has anyone slagged off Dom or his product. Why he should feel the need to do so here is beyond me. And I don't believe the "only fun" aspect.

Mods, I think this thread should be closed; it is serving no purpose other than to let some people deliberately cause bad feelings. What's the phrase? "Trolling" I believe. It's run its course.

Dom - good luck to you; you seem to have a well respected product. It's not my cup of tea, but that is my choice.

Have the respect to admit that RG have a good product too - although it obviously is not to your liking either. But surely, some professional respect is due here?

As I said earlier, you don't see RG on here claiming anything, accusing anyone, abusing anyone.

Let's close it here.

This is our rebuild 18 months ago, when he's done 100k miles we have agreed the engine will be pulled and a full strip for all to view here on piston heads
