If its an avoidable situation then why would it be totally the fault of the Focus driver?
Because they clearly forgot the mirror bit of mirror signal manoeuvre. Having indicators on doesn't allow you to change lane regardless of who else is on the road, too many people assume that because they've indicated they can just do whatever they want. Thats the thing with videos you only need to show enough footage which shows you in a good light. My question is show the previous minute and that gives a bigger picture,as someone says have you came round the roundabout all the way in the left lane and the Focus who thought he was right was proving a point by shutting the door on you.
Been to many collisions like this and if this ended up in one I would certainly want to view the previous 1 minute to satisy myself if I was apportioning blame, this is based on the small portion of footage shown.
i am sure others will have a similar view

I've always had the view regarding CCTV enforcement of certain offences, and this instance would come into a similar category, that the important evidence is not the instant of the offence or incident but what was the lead up to it and how did the driver allow himself to get or be put into that position.

Ive been driving for a living for 25 years, vans, 7.5tonners and 3 stints on the taxis and ive missed out not having cctv recording what muppets do every single day of the week, my 1 accident wouldnt have been covered as it was right by my N/S rear wheel arch
I am broadly in agreement. I do like watching videos of bad driving on YouTube though, even though it is all a bit big brother/sadgeekery. It's a modern dilemma.
Some interesting ones from my cam.. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RDIhhN-AYjU

You don't half attract the numptys. I have a mini 0801 also, cost me about £65 from Amazon with the GPS and G sensors but I had to buy the memory card separately. The small mount was a key selling point for me. Nobody has noticed the camera neatly hidden behind the rear view mirror.
The software that came with it is very flakey, but I have since downloaded a program called RegistratorViewer which is much better. It even autogroups the hundreds of 3-min clips into actual journeys, and allows you to mark a section of footage to export as a single video file, with or without the sensor data.
I found an unexpected side effect of the dashcam is an improvement to my own driving, mainly my responses to tttish behaviour. I watched a few incidents back since I got the cam, and cringed seeing / hearing myself overreact to what hindsight confirms were fairly mild situations.

Please tell me that's not coming from your iPhone that song? Apologies not a Golf R its a GTI. GR12 AJA doesn't show up on Google search as stolen but then again it only would if someone had posted about it. Did it a few more times further up the road, you can make it out in the distance going back into lane 3.
And yes the song is from my iPhone

Hey guys. This is my first post. I have been a long time reader but decided I must start posting!
So I reported a dangerous driver who nearly killed a pedestrian to RoadSafe and got the following email:
Dear xxxxxxxxxxxx,
RE: BMW - YC09UJP
Thank you for your submission to Roadsafe London concerning the incident below.
You provided details of the vehicle concerned and all appropriate checks have now been undertaken.
From the information you have provided, but without further corroboration, police will not be taking any further action however a letter of warning has been issued to the driver concerned. The letter contains the link to your footage along with reference to Highway Code Rules relevant to the incident (guidance only, not enforceable), along with the equivalent sections/regulations of Road Traffic enactments (enforceable) and their penalties upon conviction.
We appreciate this may not be the outcome you were hoping for however would ask that this does not deter you from making further reports to Roadsafe London.
Please be advised, Roadsafe London is not an alternative means of reporting road traffic offences or breaches of Highway Code Rules with a view to prosecution.
Kind regards
xxxxxxxxxxxx

What do you guys think? Should RoadSafe be pressing for a police related charge? What do you think of the driver and his/hers actions?

To be fair, it does look like you were undertaking him, maybe I'm seeing it differently?Granted, the Focus should of stayed in lane. If that had resulted in a coming together, id bet money that it would go down as 50/50 for insurance.

...have ordered an 0801 from E-Prance on Amazon so will report once it arrives.
Well, it arrived a while ago and has sat in it's box in the kitchen. I finally got round to checking and testing and all is well so far.One small issue is positioning, it appears I'm going to need to put it at the top of the drivers side and switch the screen off during recording - so my request is post up your location shots please?
