Quick question to 0801 owners.

The light that flashes red/purple when charging mines started to flicker as if there's a loose connection. When it's fully charged and the blue one is flashing it's fine. Doesn't appear to be affecting the recording (haven't checked every segment)

Initial thought is the GPS part the usb lead is plugged into playing up. But I can't easily route it into the camera itself because of the mounting/headlining/screen angle. Need a 90degree adapter or something.

Any ideas/had similar?

When in one of my cars it doesn't do this, but it does in the other, never been a problem though.

Stupid question.... When you guys refer to motion detection, is that when the car moves, or when something in front of the lense moves?

Both (at least for the 0801)

Two weeks ago, I ordered the E-Prance G1W from amazon here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IPDDAME/ref=pe_38572...

It was due to be delivered on 29th May. Unfortunately it didn't arrive so I requested a refund. To be fair, the refund was promptly issued. But it still hasn't arrived!

Anyway, I purchased the mini 0801 from ebay store combi-uk on Thursday and it arrived on Friday. Just what I was after.

I'm extremely impressed after having used the camera today.

I bought it here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231145247255?ssPageName=...

But have just ordered the GPS attachment so would suggest to others not to try and save £15 by purchasing the non-GPS version.

In fact, I had a long phone call with the gentleman who is the founder of combi-uk. Extremely helpful chap and certainly worth paying the slightly greater amount to buy the mini 0801 from him. Bear in mind the extra kit you get buying from them and it's no more than making a cheaper mini 0801 fully compatible.
Out of the 2000 cameras they've sold this year, he's only had 8 returns as faulty.

I wish I had just bought this in the first place rather than faffing with the one from China!

The phone ones aren't so good, mainly because they vibrate in their holders. Not enough so you'd notice looking at them when driving but definitely picked up in the recordings.

I just received my 0803 eprance camera, and never though to ask if it was Mac compatible... I don't use windows and it doesn't seems to register when i plug it into my macbook. A quick google didn't turn up any info about mac drivers. Anybody managed to get it working with a mac? Thanks

Hi buddy,

Yup - it works with my iMac

Although, I went for the GPS, but doesn't work, but you can put the micro SD into the SD card and can view videos?

I fitted my 0801 this morning. All went smoothly until I came to the big power-on!

I used an add a circuit as that looked like a very neat solution. Problem is, even though the add a circuit is placed into the fuse slot of the cars factory fit cig socket, my camera is still permanent live!

Even weirder still the cars socket is still behaving as a switches live. It's defo the right one as if I pull the cars fuse it stops the socket working.

No matter what I try though, when the 'second' fuse in the add a circuit is fitted, the camera goes permanent live again. This is the case whether the car is locked or unlocked, keys or no keys.

I can't fathom how what is a switched live with just a fuse in it, becomes a permanent live with an add a circuit fitted!

on one of my cars the fag lighter and windows circuits stay live until you turn off the ignition and open the door, this confused me no end - spent ages setting it all up it worked well. Following day i went to show the mrs the handy work i'd done and it didnt turn off! then opened the door to get access to the fuse box and it switched off, the penny dropped then!

The gf's car, he fag lighter stays on for a random period of time after taking the keys out, not sure if its doing something clever or is just random

Just ordered this -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00F5WP990/ref=...

However, I've got that sinking feeling that I've bought the non-gps version.

So IF this is the case, can I just add on the gps module?

Thanks for the replies chaps.

I don't think it's linked to headlights/ doors or anything as I've put a charger with an LED on it into the cars socket and that goes out the second te key is removed.

If I pull the add a circuit out I lose both cig's, naturally. With it connected the cars cig comes back with switched live but the 'new' one is permanent.

Can't help but think that what I have used for earth (random pole near the throttle pedal) is somehow live. I put a multimeter between that pole and my new fuse and got 12.2v when battery was reading 12.3v so assumed I'd found a good earth.

I ordered an 0803 from eprance on May the 3rd.

Still not arrived.

Seems what you guys were saying about them is true well at least in my case.

Might be a daft question but been reading the manual for the 0803 from the combi-uk ebay site linked on the previous page

Under general precautions we find:-

Do not operate or expose the camcorder under following condition:
—Direct sunlight area
—High temperature or dusty area
—Near air conditioner or heaters or any other extreme temperature area
—In a closure car, especially parking in direct sunlight

Ideal dashcam, then?

Well exactly. Seems odd to be selling a product where the installation instructions seem to describe avoiding the exact conditions that 99% of delivered products will face. So is this just arse covering or do people dismount in hot weather?

I ordered one from Amazon and received it the next day.

Shall also be ignoring all the warnings.
