To be fair, the hedges really obscure the roundabout. It's not until you're slightly emerged onto the roundabout at 4 seconds that the lad was seen. The kid was aware enough to check the road as he crossed and noticed you and retreated, you saw him and slowed, so good observation all round and made the best out of a poor design.
Sorry, can't help with the problems.
Yes that hedge is a real danger. its even worse when turning right. cars fly straight across and you cants see them until they are right on the roundabout. look at the range rover to get what i mean. if i was going straight across and he was a split second further would have had to do an emergency stop.Sorry, can't help with the problems.
even if I had stopped at the line I wouldn't have seen him well ok he would have edged out a bit more. I know to keep a look out around there.

Update from our insurers. They're backing us. Claim has been filed against the Fiat driver with the video as supporting evidence.
By no means a done deal but pleasing to see that our insurers are willing to take the stance that my wife was not to blame.
Lets see what the other side have to say about it.

i formatted the card yesterday and today its working again.
Its a class 10 I seem to recall some people had issues with those. will order a lower class one. was either 4 or 6 I think was recommended.
Sounds like the issue I'm having with my 0801. Format it and all good. Once card is full it only records first 1 minute of journey. Its a class 10 I seem to recall some people had issues with those. will order a lower class one. was either 4 or 6 I think was recommended.
Turning it to 'video only' has fixed this for me. If audio is on it just doesn't work once storage is full.
Shame it's happening on the 0803 though. I was going to upgrade to try to fix this!

i have a different card somewhere. people are saying its hit and miss with the make I have (scandisk)
For the mini 0801 a class 6 card is recommended, not a class 10.
The problem I'm having, and I've only just found this, is that when full it doesn't necessarily delete the oldest clip, so my card has recent clips and very old ones, but in between it deleted part of my trip back from holiday - i.e. consecutive clips on one long trip had some missing from the middle of the journey, which is odd.

I'm new to this dashcam lark but bought a G1W to put in the company van after someone caused me a bit of grief saying I had cut them up, anyway...
i watched an old dear try to remove her car keys by turning them the wrong way whilst the car was in gear, resulting in this

She was OK, funny in hindsight.

Road rage assault caught on CCTV.
Pitiful how no-one really goes to help.
I guess the VW in question is on false/cloned plates, or the police don't have any software to sharpen the image?

Bloody hell these things are not worth the hassle! I fiddled with the settings of my mini 0801, and got it to record properly instead of 5 minute segments.
Then today I switch it to 'video and audio' instead of video only and merrily went about a full trackday, 7 x 20 minute sessions.
What do I have? Yes, 7 x 5 minute videos of me barely leaving the fking paddock.
Don't do it that way. Then today I switch it to 'video and audio' instead of video only and merrily went about a full trackday, 7 x 20 minute sessions.

Leave it at 3 minute segments. Then use registration viewer it automatically joins them all into one big film and then you can take out segments of any length very easily.

WHY THE fk NOT??
Indeed. There's this big song and dance about cash for crashers, insurance companies mope around saying, 'poor us, nothing we can do'. Someone hands them clear evidence of insurance fraud on a platter, and… they have no appetite for it.WHY THE fk NOT??
I don't even pretend to understand the reasons, but it is very annoying.

The police are apparently uninterested in this type of fraud these days unless there is an organised pattern, so the insurance company are a bit stuffed - private prosecutions are £££ and fraud with risk.I don't even pretend to understand the reasons, but it is very annoying.
Also it's not really clear evidence in itself - the driver could quite easily claim they hit an object that threw them across the road, or the vehicle lurched, or a passenger sneezed and knocked them. The video is evidence of blame, but unless the statements very clearly contradict the video it's not evidence of fraud.

I agree that the video in itself isn't - however, taken together with the fact that they dropped the claim once confronted with the video, I believe goes somewhat further to show intent to defraud. If it was genuine, then the claimants wouldn't be so keen to drop the claim. Also it's not really clear evidence in itself - the driver could quite easily claim they hit an object that threw them across the road, or the vehicle lurched, or a passenger sneezed and knocked them. Having said that, the camera fulfilled it's primary function in protecting the driver of the wagon/his company from a claim. The fraud business, whilst it would be nice to see dealt with on a wider level, is almost incidental.

Do you have an option to auto lock files when it detects an impact? I read/watched when I was looking at reviews that some cameras that have this option are over-sensitive and write protect files whenever you go over a pot hole.
The other thing I would try would be to ensure you format the card in the device.
Lastly does the device maintain the date and time correctly? if it looses the date when the battery runs down is it perhaps thinking that the existing files are newer than those it's trying to record so not overwriting them.
