If I buy the 801 with the hardwire kit rich linked to - how realistic is it that this could be fit and forget? It will be in the car that my wife drives everyday so she will never touch it or mess around with it like I would. In other words it needs to work on its own once set up with no intervention at all. Come on and go off with ignition; record over when it gets full up, etc. And I would only use the footage in the event something untoward occurred. Is it really that reliable? I ask cos I've had various little cameras for my motorbikes and they always require faffing about with.

0803 here
It's fit and forget but I have had issues seemingly related to the mount. Mine was turning itself off as power kept disconnecting.
All seems fine now. But I must admit I'm worried it may not be 100% battery on it has never worked.
0801 never had that issue but you need to be careful with card selection.
Möbius camera is also worth a look. Better reliability IMO but no resr screen.

Hmm. My 0803 has restarted itself a couple of times whilst driving. If it continues to do that I'll be sending it back for replacement...
Do you have the updated mount?Edited to add - I did look on amazon but the £6.99 "new" one is the same shape as the old one in the picture below.
Morning all,
am thinking about a dash camera. The upgraded 0803 (0805) is getting loads of good reviews, and with gps from a uk seller is around £100.
What are peoples views about the G1HW?
Its about half the price, but with no gps and not as discrete.
Do people find gps useful to have?
Also, I'd been thinking about switching the cam to the screen of my bike (zzr600) and a suction one can do this whereas a 3m glue one obviously can't.
However I would be interested to know how good the suction mounts are? The bike can get a bit shaky on the m-way and I wouldn't want it to part company whilst on the move.
thanks,
Ian

I assume they were being nice and giving the driver the chance to move over and stay over, maybe a hand signal as they drove past.
Is there a replacement for the Mobius camera out or due out? I have the original and will be looking for another three to do front and back in my car and the wifes.
Somehow I doubt they'd be as "nice" if you went past them at 120MPH. Someone sitting in lane 3 on an empty motorway should be an instant pull tbh - highly likely they're under the influence of something. Is there a replacement for the Mobius camera out or due out? Overall I think the police do a good job, but I just don't think they take lane hogging as seriously as they should.

My 801 has been virtually a "fit and forget" device so yes I would recommend it. I only had problems when I was using a cheap USB hub as an extension cable and that created lots of noise on the picture, but that was easily sorted. ta

I had this gem last week.
Scenario, I'm in a LHD motorhome, using a part time Bus Lane (7am to 10am) approaching a junction with No Left Turn
The camera is one of the £20 Ebay specials Mini HD 720P, the footage has come out better than I expected, being higher up in the screen than my line of sight helped.

Mind linking to the one you bought? I'm still looking for a rear cam and that one seems to be spot on, but there are a few different sellers of the same one.Scenario, I'm in a LHD motorhome, using a part time Bus Lane (7am to 10am) approaching a junction with No Left Turn

Not being a techno geek, a lot of this has gone over my head. Where is the debate on the "best" camera? Ideally is like a front and rear one with hidden wiring.
