A month or two ago someone posted a link to a hardwiring kit which hooked into the fusebox, replacing a fuse and providing a second fuse mount in the fitment for that fuse. I can't find it now - does anyone know what I mean? Any links of such items for sale?

Thanks!
"Add-A-Circuit" or piggy back fuseholder ?

Thanks!

Make sure you put it in the correct way around, just to be sure.

Hmmmm call me paranoid but I wonder if they would pay out in the event the camera malfunctioned.

" you said you had a camera and took a discount"

Sorry I just don't trust them, anything to get out of paying.
I trust them less that's why I declare everything to my insurers

Funk. Did you email them? Or have you had a dispatch email. I have heard nothing and was thinking of getting in touch.
I spotted my billing address was incorrect (pulled from PayPal) so emailed to check they'd received payment properly and no issues. Cheekily enquired whether I'd made the first batch and they said no but a couple of 'return to senders' meant they might dispatch next week for a lucky pair if no response to their check with the original buyers.

setting it up now

now im confused about the resoloution. the 0803 you had the option to turn on or off hdr.

on this you can have hdr in 1920x1080 30fps only i thought the 0803 was 60 fps?

one issue. the screen protector cover is tucked under the plastic case and i cant get it off frown the little tab pulled off and left it there

It's only 60fps at 1280x720::

2560x1080 30fps 21:9 (cinema mode)
2304x1296 30fps 16:9
1920x1080 45fps 16:9
1920x1080 30fps 16:9
HDR 1920x1080 30fps 16:9
1280x720 60fps 16:9
1280x720 30fps 16:9

Full manual/instructions here: http://www.mini0806.com/firmware/mini0806%20manual...

Didn't realise it's even wider-angle which is useful - 135 degrees. Full spec comparison:

ok thanks.

ive left it at 2560. will hopefully get chance to test it tomorrow. liking the separate leds. have put a 64gig card in slot a only. seems to boot up faster than the 0803.

screen protector is bugging me though. going to try and hook it with a pin or something.

I'd leave it on. I took mine off and scratched the lens a week later.

Might get a couple of those 0806 cameras if I get this new car, do they just take normal Micro SD cards, or do you need higher speed ones, I have a Go Pro Hero 4, which they recommended performs best with a certain card, probably only due to the 4K recording though. If you use two SD cards in a camera does it just record to one then you have to manually change it in the settings, or can you set it so it'll record to both as and when it needs to?

Yes you can choose auto in the settings and it switches between cards.

Well folks I am very pleased to be able to update this sorry tale!!

We received a call today from our insurers who advise that the other side have agreed that their driver was at fault and that the claim lies with them. However, to add a further twist to the story, the other driver had a clause in his policy that stated if he was to cause an accident deliberately then his insurance would be deemed void. His insurers have decided this was the case and have now revoked his insurance and are taking steps to recover the amount he claimed for the repair to his own car. This will also mean he must state that he has been refused insurance on all future renewals.

In the case of our damage we have full legal cover so our car will be repaired by our insurers who will presumably take a legal route to reclaiming the sum from him personally.

Quite a result and goes to show the value in having cars fitted with cameras!!!

My wife is also delighted as her renewal is the 12th Jan and this was hanging over her with a sizeable premium increase as it was unresolved.

Phew.
James, thats a good result. What was their reason for braking to a stop? Was it a bit of road rage or were they on a crash for cash type scam?

Its good to see some footage being used for its intended purpose rather than the usual Youtube idiot ranting about other drivers.

It might be worth letting Blackvue know, cam companies love good news stories like this! Nice to see the insurers coming to the sensible conclusion rather than 50/50ing it as well.

Good result all round there!

I believe its about 11 hours with a 32gb on an 801. They wont take 64.

I have an 801 with 32gb coming today with a spare mount and cable so I can swap between my daily and my mx5, £60 all in from amazon. Looking forward to using it but Im a bit concerned about the reliablity of these looking at some of amazons reviews. Anyone else had problems with the 801?
Got my 801 installed today, managed to hide most of the cable behind the trim in my astra J but I still have it running through the lighter socket. Have to say Im pretty impressed with it and it nearly proved its worth when some blonde dingbat pulled out on me.

It didn't have any software with it but downloaded a couple of the net. The proprietary software was a bit crap so I used registrator viewer which is far superior.

Just have to install the other cable and mount in my mx5 and hope it will stay reliable.

Absolutely splendid news, thanks James for updating this. It made my Saturday night reading this. I agree with your comment about the value in fitted dash cameras - I have a Roadhawk in my car which I've had for over two years but no incidents thankfully so far.

But words of advice for your wife - maintain a distance whilst following traffic!

Do you have any control over image sharpness on the camera? I had a similar problem with my 7900 but a notch up on sharpness and brightness and it's much improved.

I don't think that video upload site has done it any favours.

Do you have it somewhere in 1080? Could you stick it on YouTube?
