just purchased a 0803 for my first cam, I mainly drive in evenings so i think the 0803 would be more beneficial than the 0801 for my needs.

one question, a friend of mine runs a cam and has a small "cctv in operation" sticker on his window, according to him you need to display that sticker if you want to use the footage in court. Is this true or not? I have never seen another non commercial vehicle with these stickers fitted.

That looks like a neat solution (to a problem I didn't know I had).

Pub lore. Just like those who state:

(1) No MOT = invalid insurance

and

(2) You need a TV Licence (only if you watch live broadcasts)

Are you saying that you don't need a TV licence?

Could you explain, please?

Has anyone else's Mini 0801's speaker decided to die?

Mines hanging on like a stubborn bog stain, but is screeching and annoying me?

The SpyTec ones are now 'out of stock with no eta'. I've had my order refunded.

It worked out about £156 if you bought it direct from their website inc'l usps 1st class delivery. I can't find any other sellers at all other than "RoadCam Inc" who don't ship to the UK from their Amazon site.
Looks like Joovuu might be getting the K1S.

They're on at £175 and "In stock soon"....

Edited - ordered one, they're expecting stock 7/4/15 so shouldn't be too long to wait smile

My dod430w has been faultless since I bought it last year. The 801 I bought for the missus has failed a number of times, I suspect heat issues and its failed again today so I am moving to another dod for her car.

Without reading all of these pages is there a solution for my son?

He parks his car near school and some clowns recently have been mucking around with the cars. Relatively innocent stuff so far but of course no one ever sees them.

Is there a cheap motion activated dash cam he could simply rest of the dashboard when he is parked there?
You can do this for free using an old smart phone or ipod touch. Plently of free apps which will record to memory or upload to 'the cloud'
Look at gotya for example https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com....

So you leave a smart phone prominently displayed in your car windscreen while you are away from the car?

What could go wrong?

How long does shipping from Eprance via amazon usually take? My dad had his cameras in a few days but I've been waiting over 2 weeks now

Yesterday my Mobius arrived and today I plugged it into the car. Watching the footage back on Quicktime on the PC, and it is very jerky. Is there some parameter I've set wrong? I've done a search and can't find anyone who has had the same problem.

Edit: I'm using a Kingston class 4 32gb card and plugged the memory card into the PC to view the footage.

Are you copying the footage to the pc before playback ?

Try a class 10 SD card ?

A class 4 should be absolutely fine, as long as it's a good branded one and not some cheapo knock-off.

Try copying the file to your PC first and see if it plays back OK.

Have a look at the mobius FAQ below, tons of info on memory cards:
