Yesterday my Mobius arrived and today I plugged it into the car. Watching the footage back on Quicktime on the PC, and it is very jerky. Is there some parameter I've set wrong? I've done a search and can't find anyone who has had the same problem.
Edit: I'm using a Kingston class 4 32gb card and plugged the memory card into the PC to view the footage.
How old is the PC? Some older ones aren't man enough for 1080p. Try VLC Player perhaps too, the codecs are more efficient.Edit: I'm using a Kingston class 4 32gb card and plugged the memory card into the PC to view the footage.

Are you copying the footage to the pc before playback ?
Try a class 10 SD card ?
No, I'm playing it straight from the memory card via QuickTime. I heard that a class 10 may cause problems, so I stuck with a class 4 which was the 'best' according to most opinions on this thread.Try a class 10 SD card ?

A class 4 should be absolutely fine, as long as it's a good branded one and not some cheapo knock-off.
Try copying the file to your PC first and see if it plays back OK.
I'll give that a go, thanks.Try copying the file to your PC first and see if it plays back OK.

The PC is about seven years old, running Vista, so it's certainly no spring chicken! I'll try VLC player although I wouldn't know what a codec was if it slapped me in the face! One of the reasons I chose a Möbius was because it can be controlled and watched via my Google Nexus android tablet, however it's having USB 'issues' and isn't connecting. Hopefully the mini to micro USB lead that's on its way in the post will sort things out.

If you want small discrete cams isnt a pair of mobius a better bet?
Looking at the reviews on Techmoan the K1S cameras are much smaller (and therefore more discrete) than the mobius. You also get the files all in one place and can review your footage on the go. For pure value for money though, a pair of Mobiuseseses are a hard package to beat. Edited by Macadoodle on Saturday 11th April 14:13

Could you do us a favour and take some photos of it fitted please?ETA: the little emergency record button broke while I was fitting it though - I've had it in bits and rather than use a microswitch, they've used some kind of thin-film metallised thing which has stuck in the pushed position. I'm a bit narked but these things happen, it looks like it will accept a basic SMD microswitch though, so if I can be arsed I'll probably try a bit of bodgery on it. It's not an essential part of the system though.
I've also written a Python script that takes the Pocket GPS World speed cam database, and spits it out in a format that the K1S can understand so it is also now a permanently wired speed cam detector.
I've chucked the script up on Pastebin here http://pastebin.com/TtipA2Nd

It is completely hidden from view, and as the GPS head also incorporates a speaker, it doesn't need to be in earshot either (audio is routed to the speaker in the GPS device when it is plugged in anyway)
I've also done further work to the speed camera script after today's testing, which is uploaded to Pastebin here: http://pastebin.com/tPVKBaNH
Hi guys, I hard wired a Snooper dvr-1HD yesterday but took a best guess at what fuse to wire it to. It's a no frills cam (no screen) and all it says in the manual is that it needs to be connected to a 12v permanent supply - I hooked it to a 5A, will this be okay?
It also claims to have a 'parking mode' but this appears to just be 'stay on record' when I leave the car - is this okay on the battery or should I switch it off to be on the safe side?

i've discovered my new 801, while does record, some video files dont play, the 3 minute files look to be 307,200KB and the ones that don't work appear 245,700KB but this is all within the same drive period.
Obviously you want to know its recording when you need it and this is a bit hit and miss, anyone have any ideas?

What does the manual say. For most 12v is too high and will need 5.
It says:Powering your DVR-1HD Mini using the ‘hard wire’ lead
You can power your DVR-1HD by wiring it directly to your vehicles 12V electrical system using the ‘Hard Wire’ cable supplied as standard with your unit.
1. Connect the positive side of the cable (marked with a red plus symbol) to a 12V permanent live. This is a permanent live which has power if the if ignition if On or Off.
2. Connect the negative side of the lead to a negative ground - any metal portion of the vehicles frame.
Important: If you are unfamiliar with this procedure, please consult a professional auto electrician.
User Tip: We recommend that you power the device to a permanent 12V supply so that the ‘Parking Mode’ operates correctly. If you power your DVR-1HD from a ‘switched’ 12V supply that powers off when you turn the vehicle’s engine off, your DVR will power off shortly after when the internal battery back-up has run out of power. With a permanent 12V supply your DVR1 will remain powered on and can continue to monitor the area around your vehicle whilst you are away from it. However please note that if you do connect the device to a permanent feed, and you are planning to leave your vehicle for an extended period of time we recommend that your DVR-1HD is either switched off or disconnected from the power source to avoid draining your vehicle’s battery.
Caution: use only the hard wire cable supplied with your Snooper DVR-1HD Mini. Using a different hard wire cable could cause the unit to operate incorrectly and could damage the unit invalidating the warranty.
I wired it to a 5 amp fuse and used it for a 2 hour motorway journey no probs but I'm unsure whether it's okay to leave plugged in overnight.
