I had to replace the battery in my blackvue after the original died
found one from my mini RC helicopter.
the supplier said the camera was dead and should be replaced.
That limping guy manages to sprint back to his car at a fair lick afterwards I had to replace the battery in my blackvue after the original died
found one from my mini RC helicopter.
the supplier said the camera was dead and should be replaced.

It looks like it's the limping guys car so he may have a park anywhere badge, but the 'road safety' van has also tried to emerge from the wrong side of a one way street - see where the one way ends further back

It was mainly the part where he decided the outside lane hogging at 63 mph was his idea of good driving. But yes, it's certainly no crazy Russian dashcam compliation! Must try harder!

Is there nothing more rewarding in your life than pretending to be a policeman by filming people making very minor traffic offences, calling out the registration and then putting it on youtube and pistonheads?I just can't see the point.

Including the Juke's? If so will the Insurance/Police be tracing them? Just curious
Yes including the Juke. The police don't want to pursue the Juke it seems.Sod the police! (But pursue a complaint?). Get the Juke "driver"'s details from AskMID and claim from its insurance!

But the driver of the Juke demonstrated the worst driving of the three of you! Did he not actually (and clearly) cause the crash?

Ask mid will only tell you the make and model of the car and if it's insured or not.Sod the police! (But pursue a complaint?). Get the Juke "driver"'s details from AskMID and claim from its insurance!
I was simply making my way home minding my own business. The rest took care of itself.
Some would say the renault diver should not have been undertaking (which is something the police did mention) and that he over reacted to the situation. In my mind it's just a series of events that resulted in a loss for everyone. Apart from the Juke driver of course.

Small tip, unplug the bloody thing when you park up, an Elise battery wont power it for a week and then start the car.
TW.AT Ive lost the website page now but Mobius uses 300mA, so about 1Ahr of car battery every 3 hours. If you have a standard 35Ahr battery in your car and leave the dash cam running while you're away, you'll lose about a third of your car battery 12Ahr in about 36 hours, a day and a half. It uses the same power in time-lapse mode
Are the others about the same?

My uncle is doing a tour of northern Italy soon and want's a dash cam just to capture some of the scenery etc.
What would people reccomend? He thinks he'll want around 4 hours continuous footage on one card.
I see mention of Mini 0801 and 0806 on here ... worth a shot?
I have the 0801, 2nd generation 0806 and also more recently a Mobius. What would people reccomend? He thinks he'll want around 4 hours continuous footage on one card.

The 0801 has to be one of the best low priced dash cams around, and providing you buy a genuine one and not a fake they are pretty damn good. Mine has been 100% reliable from day one. Comes with a fantastic LCD screen which you can use for initial setup. The video quality in the daytime is quite astonishing, though it is not widescreen. The 0803 was unveiled shortly after but has since been discontinued. I wouldn't bother buying the 0803.
The 0806 model offers more on paper and has a built in LCD screen, though there have been some quality issues with the 'improved' 1st and 2nd generation 0806 dash cams and I had to send the first one back to the UK seller due to it being faulty, the 2nd one has worked extremely well and offers widescreen recording which is pretty impressive. It is better built than the 0801 and the model I purchased had built-in GPS so displayed speed along with accurate time. Not sure it is worth nearly double the cost of an 0801 because the video quality in the daytime isn't that much better, but in low-light or night-time is definitely improved. I believe that the 3rd generation 0806 is now available. Just be careful where you buy it from. The built-in battery is only good for a few minutes so the 080* range of dash cams can't really be used outside of the car for long.
The Mobius kind of does everything you could ever want and is available in standard and wide-angle lens options, it's not limited to being a dash cam, it is a true action cam, it's well supported and has an astonishingly good track record and is very reliable. It comes with a built-in battery which is good for 80 mins so can be taken out of the car if you want to wander around with it. And it is so tiny. Cost wise it is similar to an 0801 once you have added in a windscreen mount, 3 metre cable, USB power adapter (to plug into the cigarette lighter when driving). There is no LCD screen so it's best guess as to what it is recording, and it's not so good in low-light or night-time compared to the vastly more expensive 0806. I bought mine direct from the manufacturer in Hong Kong via their ebay shop.
For 4 hours continuous video footage you need a 32GB micro SD card which will allow approx 320 mins of recording. And remember that these cameras tend to loop round and record over the oldest footage when full, so remember to copy any footage you like onto a Mac or PC.
