I've been looking at Cellink and other backup batteries for my Mini0805, but I'm looking for something which will allow me to set to switch off delay to 4-5 hours. The reason for this is that I don't want to overwrite any recordings of collisions while I'm away, and I don't want the camera running for days/weeks, just for when parked in town etc.
This is a bit OTT for what I need (without being able to configure the time): https://www.amazon.com/Cellink-Battery-Supply-Blac...
Any ideas?

Took delivery of a ddpai mini2
I don't seem to have the full set of icons on the playback screen to access all functions.
I want to set up parking mode etc
The info vids I've watched have about 5 icons but mine doesn't??
Any ideas?
When you have connected the phone to the camera wifi, go into Me -> Camera Setting -> Advanced Setting and the parking setting is thereI don't seem to have the full set of icons on the playback screen to access all functions.

I'm sure it's been asked already but I haven't gone through >200 pages of content, but I am interested in a dash cam but am hesitant over installation. I have a Halfords near me, that offer a fitting service. Is this good enough for a front and rear facing camera install in a BMW X6 with no wires exposed and hard wired into the car so it turns on and off with the car + possible parking mode?
As with anything, there's positive and negative reviews and I'm not confident in doing the installation myself.
Alternatively if there's any recommendations for an installer in the Slough area that anyone can propose?
thanks in advance

Find out if they do a hardwire install or just route the cabled to the aux power socket. You may have a preference for one of the other. As with anything, there's positive and negative reviews and I'm not confident in doing the installation myself.

For a hardwired install where they may piggyback a fused connection with an add-a-fuse there is slight risk (probably very small) of damaging a modern cars electrical circuit especially if your car uses CAN bus.
You may need a hardwired install to make use of parking mode which requires continuous power.
Thanks Actual, I will go by the Halfords tomorrow and ask about fitting, didn't even think it was a route to the cigarette lighter or a proper hardwire install, so thanks for that. If it's a route to the lighter, I can most likely do that myself. Hard wiring is what I will struggle with I think. I've only just bought the car and I've noticed there's two separate fuse boxes, one in the glove box, one in the boot, but haven't read the manual to see what the separation is. Will report back once I've spoken to them, again, alternatively, if anyone recommends anyone local, that would be great too.

Hard wiring is easier than it sounds. You'll need a multimeter to determine which fuses are permanent lives or switched ignition lives, or you could even use your cars manual. If you know the radio turns off with the ignition or the interior lights, find that and fit an add-a-circuit to it.For permanent lives I'd recommend something like this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132098013652
This will keep the camera powered when the car is off, but will cut the power when the voltage drops below 11.6V to save the battery. Added bonus is you won't use the cameras power lead, so you'll be able to take it to another car for temp use.
For switched lives I'd recommend a new 12V socket with flying leads to connect to the add-a-circuit, that way you don't invalidate the warranty of the cameras accessories and it can be taken from car to car. Some electrical tape on the new 12V socket to the cameras plug is helpful as bumps in the road won't loosen it.
Next it's simply a case of hiding the wiring.
Quick question chaps - currently have a DDPai M6+ with an auto shut off after X hours to stop the battery going flat. It's in a BMW with a permanent live cig lighter.
I want to use an old 720p dashcam as a rear, but it has no auto shut off. I don't want a flat battery, so does anybody know if there is a cig lighter USB adapter with low voltage protection? eBay is full of ones which have a display or light up when the battery is low, but no shut off. The only ones with auto shut off are hard wiring kits like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2A-Mini-USB-Car-Charger-...
Now I suppose I could wire it in parallel with the boot cig lighter, but an adapter would be much easier - does such a thing exist?

I dont suppose anyone has hardwired one into a Citroen C1/Aygo/107 have they ?
I'm thinking of coming off the back of the 12v socket as the fuse box is inside the steering cowling and not a lot of room there to fit a fused spur
If you're plugging something else in you'd be running 2 items from 1 fuse if you did that.I'm thinking of coming off the back of the 12v socket as the fuse box is inside the steering cowling and not a lot of room there to fit a fused spur
Not the end of the world with something like a sat-nav or a phone charger, but you'd be struggling with a tyre compressor.

yeah I'm aware of that it will just be a phone charger Not the end of the world with something like a sat-nav or a phone charger, but you'd be struggling with a tyre compressor.
Curious to know peoples thoughts on my previous purchase.
I recently bought a Next base 412GW and returned due to not being impressed by the overall picture quality.
Number plate clarity was terrible when paused, and not much difference when changing the settings.
I copmpared the above with an old Mobius 1 that I had spare from when I used to fly drones and had the Mobius purely as a basher racing drone. ( in an attempt to not damage a go pro hero 3 black edition ).
Sadly the mobius got stolen out of my car as I used to leave it in all the time. I forgot to lock the car one night, or the kids had been playing with my keyfob and the car got cleared out
I had come to rely on the camera for the what if scenario and coupled with a recent trip to Halfords the 412GW seemed a good buy.
Interested to hear other people thoughts on this.
I will probably buy another dash cam but not sure what to get now.
Thanks
Col.
