i use navfree or waze on my phone never ahd a problem with either

I've got a 7" tablet (Asus Memo Pad, £119 from Currys) with GPS - downloaded Navfree from Play store (er, free), along with offline UK mapping. Works superbly, though of course the screen is a bit overbearing.

Bonus infotainment from Torque app and a £7 OBDII bluetooth dongle.
