Hi all,

Hopefully this is the correct location to post this thread.

Anyone recently researched/purchased a sat nav?

Looking for recommendations please, UK with optional or included European maps.

Just started looking but there's a lot of options so anyone with recent purchase experience or otherwise please give me your input

Cheers

I use the free Drive+ app on my Nokia 620. All maps are free and downloaded (using wifi) so it works off-line.

The maps are produced by Navteq (owned by Nokia) which are the same as those used in Garmin units. I've got UK, France, Italy and New Zealand currently loaded on the phone.

I would avoid the latest TomToms Go models (400/500/600/5000/6000) as they are missing quite a lot of required features that you'd expect in a high end model

Do you want/need traffic information? Traffic is main reason I have mine on during journeys - one of the older TomTom Live models

Otherwise I'd suggest having a look on pocketgpsworld.com
