Folks,

I have tried out the new Snooper 2500 on a trip today and noticed that whilst the indicated speed turns red when I exceed a limit a little , ( just for test purposes and after checking there are no thieves in blue about) there is no audible tone as the manual says there should be.

The manual says: 5.11.4.
"Over speed
It is possible for My Speed to alert the driver, via an audible warning, that they have exceeded the speed limit. To set the over speed warning:
Press the to increase or decrease the over speed warning
Press OK to save and exit My Speed."

I asked Tech Support about this and they say their sat nav systems do no beep but the My Speed Aura a totally different device) does beep to warn of overspeeding.

Another section of the manual says:

My Speed sounds an audible alert speed limit is exceeded and the current speed Indicator will change from Black to RED text. Refer to page 60 for full details and settings.

Another query to Tech Support gained the reply:

When the speed limit changes from black to red, our sat nav devices do not do this. (Beeep) You can, however, set a limit in the MySpeed section of the Snooper to beep if you go over a certain speed, e.g. 30MPH. This is what’s covered on page 59 of the manual.

The MySpeed Aura is a separate device with the sole purpose of alerting you to changes in the road speed limit and this unit DOES beep when you exceed the speed limit of the road.

This seems to suggest that I can set a speed of say, 30 mph in the My Speed section and if I exceed this the unit will beep. That makes no sense as the limits are changing all the time so when I reach a 40 limit the unit will beep because I am exceeding 30 mph.

Anyone else had this problem with the Snooper Syrius 2500?

Thanks
