Route planning for iPhone

I’d like to plan a route using google maps or similar taking a custom route of decent roads. Then when out on the bike I'd like to be able to access them via my iPhone as Sat Nav to get turn by turn instructions, does anyone know if such an app exists for iPhone? And if not what else do people use?

I have searched google and can see plenty of people have asked this but without having a specific Sat Nav I can't seem to find any answers for iPhone or even android, if the best answer is to indeed buy the tom tom app then i'm fine with that as long as I can plan in advance on a larger screen or on ipad at least.

You need an iPhone, then purchase both Navigon satnav app for iPhone & a software program called Tyre Pro for your PC.

Create the routes in Tyre Pro on a PC & then load them to your Navigon app on the phone.

If you want to go the stand alone satnav route & buy a TomTom rider, Tyre do a free basic version in which you can plan your routes on your PC, then upload them to your TomTom (The TomTom rider has itinerary feature) using the TomTom Home program, which you can download free to your PC.

I think you can do that with the new version of Google Maps on the iPhone.
