Garmin 2557 goes to 20% brightness grrr

This model....Garmin nuvi 2557LMT 5 inch Sat Nav with Full Europe Maps, Free Lifetime Map Updates and Traffic Alerts - drove me nuts on the way to Le Mans as the screen started dimming to 20% automatically after being on for 30 seconds. This started as soon as we got off the ferry in Calais, it had been working faultlessly till then in the UK.

Totally distracting having to reset the brightness constantly .

I read the forums and the issue is to have to select automatic time update on the settings. Once this was done the unit works perfectly.

WTF who programs this rubbish into the unit. Come on Garmin at least put this fix in the bloody manual. Jeez.
