Ensure any equipment using Bluetooth is fully switched off!

I look after comms for our local Neighbourhood Watch and get messages and advice to share from the BiB. I just received a note including the usual warnings about open windows, leaving keys in ignition, removing valuables, yadda, yadd and one thing at the end about SatNavs caught my eye. By now we all know about removing these and wiping the sucker mark off the window (don't we?!) but get this - if you leave your Bluetooth on the scroat might be able to tell it exists by just walking along the road with their phone's Bluetooth in discovery mode scanning for nearby devices. Not an exact science but they may still smash your window to take a look in your glove box to find out.

So advice is "Ensure any equipment using Bluetooth is fully switched off."

Obviously this means apply the same rule for any mobile phones left on a car.
