It looks to me that you get speed camera alerts, but they won't be updated unless you pay a subscription. To be honest TomTom speed camera alerts aren't that great and personally I would recommend using PocketGPSWorlds if paying a subscription (Includes mobile cameras) - which you can use on that unit. PocketGPSWorld also has some useful forums

You can see the manual on TomTom's website - Link

The only TomTom units that you can't add your own alerts are the very latest GO Live 40/50/60/400/500/600/5000/6000.

Thank you for the reply very helpful if you were local I'd buy you a pint for your efforts ive found the whole sat nav thing very hard work esp with contradicting information :-) didn't know you can change software so none around the money that would offer me mobile cameras the way they word it in argos site seems to differ smile

I recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 2599 which has lifetime traffic & map updates. £150 from Halfords, so not quite the same budget but it does everything I need and includes camera warnings as well.

Previously I had a Garmin Zumo which generally picked the route I would have taken if I'd stared at the map for hours, so I was happy to stick with the brand.
