Hi folks

I have a Nissan Navara D40 which has a double din head unit. It is a fairly basic one with a cd slot, bluetooth function & steering wheel controls. I would like to replace the head unit with one that has built in sat nav, reversing camera capability, bluetooth & retains the steering wheel controls too, and possibly DAB but that one isnt a must.

Has anyone got any recommendations for what brand to for or any particular sat nav? I'm not very clued up on this so any help is appreciated. Budget wise £1k is probably the very max for headunit, camera, DAB ariel etc but I'd prefer to spend less.

Alpine stuff is good, but you get what you pay for, i.e. it isn't the cheapest.

If you have an iPhone, have you considered CarPlay? It lets your phone to the heavy lifting, so the headunit isn't duplicating features and ends up a lot cheaper. There is an Android version coming soon too.

It may be worth getting to a specialist car audio dealer/installer as it sounds like you want a full system, they will be best placed to advise.

I dont have an iPhone but I do have an android phone. Yes the best idea is probably to go to a specialist to get everything I'd need in one hit like you say but I'm away from home at the minute & thought a bit of research wouldnt go amiss.

For the sat nav side of things is there any that I should avoid or aim to have?

It is really down to personal preference, there are a few main mapping engines, Navteq and TeleAtlas, so it is a case of seeing which one you prefer and who uses that.
