I had a quick go with copilot when I went on holiday recently. Seemed ok. £19 is a bit of a gamble for ok though. It might be better to just bite the bullet and upgrade to a 4S as I guess your 3GS may pack up soon anyway. iOS 9 will be on the 4S and iOS 8.3 is pretty stable if worrying about going past iOS 6 was the reason you kept your 3GS. Or you could get a cheapo Android phone that can update to Lollipop 5.1.1

Navfree is now "navmi" and the latest reviews are terrible for it. Anyone got another suggestion please as I'm after an offline android sat nav too. Cheers

Try "Here". Free satnav app from Nokia that can be used offline & gets good reviews. Not sure if it's available for Apple products, but it definitely is for Android.

i could not download nokia here on ios6

so bought copilot for 19.99 £ on app store

I did one trip on motorway and was good with voice instructions and speed camera warnings.

This all worked offline without any data as the maps are downloaded to the phone.

I also backed up my phone to itunes in case the app is deleted accidentally on phone/

Let see how this goes

Here is available on iOS, but I didn't rate it, first of all it sent me on a weird diversion less than1/2 a mile from home, but also the directions aren't clear. I had been planning to use it for a US roadtrip later in the year.

Copilot is worth the $$ - easy to adjust roles, speed cam alerts etc in a good interface which is not too intrusive.
