I am close to buying a Pioneer head unit with Android Auto (AVH-8700BT) however one major concern I have with AA is the safety feature that google have enabled which limits the user to 6 clicks to perform an action (link below). Fro what I have read online, this results in not being able to scroll through playlists on spotify (so you can only view the first few) or search through radio lists on Tuneinradio and so on.

Is anyone aware of a solution around this? Will google realise this is more of a flaw than a safety feature?!

Its probably best to keep an eye on the android forums for a potential workaround on this, but I must say this is the first time i've heard of it, and agree that it is likely to cause a crash than prevent one.

Well after Pioneer assuring me that this wouldn't be a problem and that they were not aware of this limitation with AA and Spotify, I purchased the unit and....yep, as expected, it is limiting functionality to 6 clicks as a safety feature.

I know that Pioneer are not to blame for this and their customer service have been awesome so far. Hope AA and spotify work to remove this. I get that its safer but Apple CarPlay doesn't have this restriction and I'm pretty sure you have to press a sat nav more than 6 times to input a destination.
