Ive recently had my TVR laid up over the winter, and removed BECKER head unit as i didn't want it sitting in the car.

Anyway, Ive gone back to fitting it, and when the power plug is connected the unit powers on fine, but when i then connect the speakers plug, it turns off!

Any reason why the unit would turn off when the speakers are connected? Back earth somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

Has anything changed wiring wise? Most units will detect a short circuit and cancel the output, but to turn off would sugest a poor power supply as only when speakers are connected is there any 'current ' draw. Of course the unit could of gone wrong! I would suggest removing the speaker wiring and introduce a speaker wire at a time, just in case there is a short. do you have a multi meter to measure resistance? If you do you should see around 4 ohm, but zero to chassis/ ground. This is slow help, if I can help give me a ring.
