On the way home from work this evening I witnessed an accident. It happened just in front of me so I pulled over and gave those involved my details.

Got home and just downloaded the files from my Nextbase dashcam

One clip ends at 17:42 and 11 seconds. Traffic lights have just changed to green and I'm behind the car involved and to my right is the lorry.
Next clip starts at 17:42 and 30 seconds just as the two vehicles come to rest

WTF? The first time it would have been any use and it misses the crucial 29 seconds of incident, how the hell would that happen?

I saw what happened - when I got home I drew a diagram and made some notes to see if my memory compared correctly with the actual footage - so I can give a description if contacted by the insurance companies but it's hardly the evidence I wanted.

Any suggestions?

FWIW it records in 3 minute clips the first clips is 3 minutes, the second is 13 seconds long although I didn't switch off the ignition.

It's a Sandisk Ultra 64gb
I've reformatted it so I'll try it again today.

Is 64gb ok to use? I have a Nextbase 512g which stipulates max size of 32gb. Maybe that is a reason?

Perhaps try a class 10 card?

If contacted Nextbase for help and been given the number of their tech help desk "who will be able to retrieve the files"
Not had chance to call yet but will obviously discuss he cause of the issue rather than retrieval.

Call me a cynic, but one suspects the helpdesk have overpromised. Particularly if you left the camera on for the rest of your drive home before pulling the card out.

I wouldn't get your hopes up!
