Hi All,

I've got a 2002 Skoda Fabia which I bought a couple months back. It's got no radio as a previous owner had replaced it apparently.

Anyway I have had a look and the original model that it came with was only a cassette player, but I want to get one with a CD player preferably. Trouble is I have no idea whether they come in different sizes, how to know what will/won't fit, what things I need to look out for and then, after buying something, how I can get it fitted etc.

I am not bothered about anything fancy I just want a cheap and cheerful (emphasis on cheap) option so I can just have a bit of music on longer drives.

Any tips / advice on how I would go about buying something (second hand I guess) would be appreciated!

Thanks
Dan

Check through this list for a tidy-it-up fascia panel (and possibly aerial adaptor, by the looks of things): http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/install-adaptors/s...

I think this one is right for yours, but check the car model date is the right version (this is '99 onwards):

Then have a look through the sale for a radio you fancy. It'll need to be single DIN (ie, long/thin shape, not the nearly square ones which are double DIN).

You may also want an adaptor lead for plugging it in, but as I didn't notice one on CAD's list, the Fabia is probably ISO compliant, so it should be plug-and-play. Watch out for the lives though - one is perm, one is ignition switched, if you lose all your stations each time you turn the car off, it's the wrong way around. Most head units have plugs on the wires so you can swap them over easily.
