Hello one and all, I want to get a new stereo for my Porsche 993, but rather than just pick something off eBay, I would like to have a chat with a real human being who could give solid advice on what's best. So does anyone know of a good car audio place in or around the Guildford area that they could recommend?

I have had good experiences in the past with both Audio Design in Kingston and 001 in Hersham, but I am not sure if either are still in business.

I find Dynamic Sounds in Wandsworth very good, and they seem to have a good knowledge of Porsche. I realise that is not exactly local, but you should be able to get there straight up the A3 in half an hour or so if you go early on a weekend.

I used Road Radio down in Crawley for an upgrade in my Z4, good advice on the phone, great service and so far so good with the audio party

I have used 001 many times and they are very good for audio, alarms, sat nav aircon fix etc and they have a mobile service and will come to your home or work place call

07914 147959

Bannings are also very good. based in Slyfield but no mobile service ( prices higher than 001).

Hi,

Porsche have a modern electronics and features head unit with OEM Porsche aesthetics specially for 911 owners.

I'm not sure on price, so perhaps pop into a authorised dealer to see pricing levels and perhaps see if any of the Porsche independent dealers might be able to source it. As for independent car audio shops, you'll need to ring around to see if any of them are able to source the unit.

If you wish to spend probably alot less, then there's plenty of single DIN or double DIN units which could fit your car depending on the year and what you'd like etc.

Do nip up to Oxford Car Audio http://www.oxfordcaraudio.co.uk/ and also speak to studio in car - http://www.studioincar.com/ who are near Portsmouth. For car audio, you'll be best looking for reputable and knowledgeable specialists. Take a look also at the Four Masters network of the UK's best car audio specialists

Cheers, Dennis!
