Mods - apologies if this in the wrong area.

Got a mini 0805 for the daily, but would prefer not to install one in the other car, can anyone recommend an IOS dashcam app and an appropriate phone holder (iphone 6) to ensure a reasonable view of the road is maintained.

Advice appreciated, cheers.

DashCam is a fairly decent app - haven't any recommendations on a holder though.

Many thanks for that. I'm assuming given the la K of responses most opt a proper dashcam.

Actually quite a good question, never really thought about using a Mobile Phone for this, but kind of makes perfect sense. I have loads of old phones that would be fit the bill, have loads of memory and good camera, plus GPS. Not to mention I don't like the fact that DashCam's are obvious so people might take offence, having a mobile phone is pretty standard in cars so quite less obvious it is being used as a dashcam.

Doing a bit of research and this 360 flex osomount seems to be the one recommended.

Regarding apps I am going to trial DriverMatics and DashCam

Only thing is you will need external power - the camera is very energy hungry. If that's not a problem ... good idea.

Brodit holders are the best I've found, really stable and don't look out of place.

Re software, Nexar is one I've tried. It didn't work for me as I like to run with Waze on for traffic / cops and it didn't like running in the background, but as dashcam software it worked well. It's pretty clever too.

Quick update, got the osomount 360, many thanks for the recommendation as it seems good.

Been using Dashcam, seems pretty good, but as others have said it drains the battery quickly, when plugged in the charger interferes with the DAB. So, anyone know of a dashcam app which closes the screen down as per the mini 0805?

Cheers
