Hi first post I have 6x9 speakers and a head unit pioneer in a beetle 71. I want a better sound so I bought 200 watt 4" door speakers and 1" 180 watts tweeters 50 rms what ever that means with crossover again ?? .I can't hear the door speakers the 6 x9 drown them out so what amp do I need to connect these front speakers and twesters up ? 4 channel ? H.

Hi

The classic/early Beetle is a noisy car and so you'd need to choose products and a setup including speaker locations/RMS power etc with more research/care.

It's been ages since I've looked inside such a car, so I can't quite remember stuff like that.

I'd strongly suggest you find and visit a reputable, quality car audio specialist nearby to you (or perhaps further afield) to discuss.

As an overview, some light to medium use of sound deadening material will reduce road/tyre/wind noise coming into the cabin. This means you can use more modest power output amplifiers to get a good sound level. This of course means things will cost less with consideration to the cost of the deadening material and any install costs.

I'll assume that you don't have experience of installing vehicle electronics so I'd urge that you do speak to quality specialists to have them install both correctly and most importantly, safely for you.

Cheers, Dennis!

If you have bought 4" Mids & Tweeters then the 6x9's will always be louder than the fronts.

Where have you put the tweeters they need to be up high (RMS = Root Means Square it basically the speaker's true wattage) also to balance the sound you need to fade the sound more towards the front.

The quality of the fronts will also make a big difference so if you paid £60 for the 6x9 then you'd need to spend around £110 for the mids & tweeters to be able to balance the sound.
