Do any decent Android double-din head units exist?

I can only find nameless Chinese units with dubious reviews, or the Parrot Asteroid which may as well be a proprietary system as it takes away all the features I want from Android like the app store, customisation, etc.

I'm not looking for Android Auto - I don't want to plug my phone in - I want the head unit itself to operate on Android.

I've heard of people hard wiring android tablets in as a replacement, maybe look into that?

I have one in my vito, it has been fantastic, really good. Steering wheel controls work, dashboard display works, phonebook, torque app all work great.
Bluetooth mic is a bit quiet above 80, and if you install dozens of apps you run out of storage. Audio quality and fit and finish are good.
I had an asteroid smart. It would crash at least once a day.

I'd just install a tablet personally.

Parrot Asteroid Smart is very good, even it is stuck on Android v2.3

Though I am tempted to sell it, as it looks a little out of my place on my 90's car - a flip up unit would fit that car better, and will in the near future I hope - hence I may be selling my Asteroid in a few months.
