I have this Sony* connector in my car, but want to change to a Kenwood connector which is narrower than the Sony. Does anyone know if there is a Sony male connector at one end to go out from this:

with a Kenwood female Kenwood connector at the other end like this:

Easier to chop it off and replace it surely? Would take ten minutes with a something iron.

Or go further back into the car, is the Sony connector plugged in via an ISO harness?

I don't like the idea of chopping it off from the car end. In my world, it usually goes wrong... I don't know if it is plugged into an ISO harness, I will take a look tomorrow when it is light out.

Would much prefer to just buy a Kenwood to Sony adapter if they exist.

Soldering iron, blooming autocorrect!

Plenty of ISO to whatever car adapters about. Not saying the others don't exist but I haven't seen ones for moving between manufacturers.

It's only a dozen wires to solder across. I've done it loads of times. It also means the stereo is easier to fit into the dash as you aren't trying to cram two feet of wiring and plugs in behind it!
