I need a feed from my fuse box; I've seen fuse taps for sale on Amazon and eBay, but where can I buy them on the high street? Halfords and Maplin don't seem to stock them, odd for such a useful item. I've got some empty holders in the fuse box, so I don't actually need to piggy-back off an existing fuse.

Alternately, can I get away with a spade connector inserted into the fuse holder? Or would that be considered a horrible bodge?

Halfords do sell breakout fuses (i.e. a lead coming out of a fuse), just not the piggy-back type.

If you're just taking power from an empty fuse socket, these should be OK:

Think they're with the car audio stuff in halfords, not with the other packs of spades/fuses etc

After hunting around our local branch, including the car audio, I asked at the counter.

"Oh, we don't sell them. It's something we just don't do".

Exit me, baffled.

If you get the wrong member of staff in certain branches, they'll tell you they don't even sell car parts! 😂

Halfords are generally staffed by retards.

I wanted a short length of coolant hose. They didn't have any, which is fair enough, but the halfwit helping me suggested I try a garden centre.

Amazing.

Gave up on Halfords, Maplins and Screwfix years ago.
They have shops so that I don't have to wait for them to get them back into stock.
I do most things by ebay now. Takes a wee bit of time to find the genuine sellers amongst the dross. Try This - remember there are 3 different types of fuse.
