NavTrak ADR tracker unit found in car

found powered up behind dash, still powered up with 2 aerials connected.
Will find out how much Vodafone want to re-enable it tomorrow hopefully.
But I was wondering with the recent talk about these chinese trackers, whether the NavTrak will have a similar command set to use - anyone have any knowledge of these ?
I was tempted to replace with another TK104, but wondering whether I can get this working without Vodafone's subscription fee, which I am guessing will be c.£300/year
