Car: Vauxhall Astra H Mk5, 54 plate, petrol, 1.6L, just under 37k miles.

When I turn my key to position 1, all the lights come up and they all disappear apart from engine light, oil light, battery light and car with vertical spanner going through it light.
When I switch the engine on, remaining lights mentioned above disappear completely.
Was last serviced mid December 2016 and MOT'd straight after on the same day with no problems or advisories.

Checked the P-code (both gas and brake pedals down with key in pos. 1) and it came out with 1614. Which is apparently the call for a new CIM, but that's to do with stopping and starting - my car does that just fine.

What would you do?

Disconnect the battery to see if that clears it?

Surely this is normal? Every car has warning lights with the key in position 1 or 2, with the engine off.
Oil light because there's no oil pressure, battery light because it's not getting a charge, etc.

If they all go out when you turn the engine on, then there's no fault.

Stored codes aren't usually an issue if there isn't an associated warning light. Just a random thing that happens sometimes, if it's a genuine problem the car will flag it up with a light.
The only time stored codes would be helpful is if you have an actual problem that you're trying to diagnose. But it sounds like your car is running fine thumbup

Cheers, nice one! I just want it all in perfect order, regardless of the fact that I'm coming up to selling it soon.
