I have this shiny new Garmin which I'd like to hardwire, any ideas exactly which cables/kit I require and where I can get them?

The 2599 has traffic if that makes a difference.

Yes, it does make a difference; it uses the power lead/plug as a receiver for the digital traffic signals and I've never had any success in powering one with a different lead and still getting the traffic service.

If you need to keep the original lead, I guess it comes with a lighter socket plug on the end, you can buy a stand alone lighter socket and wire it in behind the dash or similar, tape it all together and cable tie it neatly somewhere out of the way. Not elegant, but never seen again wink

Thanks guys, it's all sorted now.

Went to, well they shall remain un-named for now suffice to say that Checkpoint are no longer in business so that leaves..., explained that I wanted the Garmin and the dashcam hardwired and my Pioneer SPH-DA120 cabling switched from Apple to Android and a USB cable attached. I hate doing anything to do with interior trim.

He wasn't very helpful at all, said I'd have to get the cables myself apart from the Nextbase dashcam kit which I had. Gave me a price of £100 just for the satnav and dashcam.

Phoned up Halfords, spoke with Scott, super guy. Said no problem at all for anything. He did the satnav, dashcam and the head unit, great job, did all the cables under the trim. Total cost for everything...30 bones. Traffic works fine.
