I have a new camper. It has come with both Cobra alarm & immobiliser and a Vodafone S6 Tracker.

It appears that the Tracker subscription is about £100 a year. Yet it only reduced my insurance by £30. Insurance is cheap for it already due to being low risk drivers and low risk area, and seemingly a low risk vehicle.

Even if I track it and manage to get it back, it would be likely damaged from breaking in, perhaps even from the thieves driving it. Therefore it would be an insurance claim anyway.

Am I missing an advantage of having one?

I personally try to avoid them where possible when it comes to insurance. If ever any vehicle I owned was stolen the last thing I would want is to have it back.

I think I would be of the same feeling.

It seems a tracker benefits the insurance company more than me. 🤔

I thought any semi-professional thief could jam trackers incredibly easily anyway. I don't bother, despite it being a requirement of 90% of insurers for my car.
