I was just about to buy the Road Angel Navigator 6000 as my first satnav system. The guy in the shop was insistent it was the best you could get for £250.

I was looking on the internet for a review and came across this site. Having read the postings I will leave this kit alone.

As a satnav virgin can anyone advise me on the best one to go for - maximum spend about £300 ? I don't need European mapping but I do want safety camera detection. I am also looking for a slim unit I can carry around easily.

Any advice much appreciated.

I've just bought a RA Navigator (original, not 6000) for £249.99 from Comet.
I have nothing to compare it with, but for me it does everything I need. I can enter a destination, get directed to it whilst being warned of cams/accident blackspots/etc. Maybe there's better out there, but this does what it says on the tin for 150 smackers less than it used to (I suspect end-of-line clearance, but I'm not worried about that).

I have a Road Angel Navigator 6000 - I have had it for a couple of months .... for the money it's OK. We also have a Tom Tom Go 500 which is much better as a Sat Nav unit but was dearer and is much larger and heavier. For the money the RA Nav 6000 is not bad but then I use it mainly for the speed camera side of it. If we want a to get somewhere we tend to take the Tom Tom as it is quicker to start up and respond generally.

I Know nothing about cars, computers or sat navs. i've had a Road Angel Navigator 6000 for christmas. How (specifically) do i put on pictures and music on to it? Instructions say i convert music into mp3 files on a computer (done that) then save them onto the SD memory card in a folder named "mp3". Do i take out the SD card and put it in the computer or just open "my computer". Do i have to create a folder named "mp3" or is there already one. Where do i place the folder. Same with "image". Thanks for simple help. I am not thick just a bit old (Have had to convert music from vinyl)

what about frankferter though, complaining that Steve Warren works for RA when he manufactures the one that he is banging on about
